How to make 910 potential new friends in 24 days or less without leaving home. Sounds like the title of a self-help book, doesn’t it? It also sounds impossible, doesn’t it? Well, it was, but I did give it my best shot.
Recently, I participated in a super extravaganza of an event called ONE WORLD, ONE HEART. In the brief period between January 19th and February 12th, I had the opportunity to visit over 900 blogs.
OWOH is the brainchild of Lisa Swifka. To quote Lisa, “The original idea behind this giveaway event was to bring bloggers together from around the world who may never ordinarily meet. It closes the gap of the blog community and enables us to interact, discover new and wonderful people, and in the process possibly win a prize.” You can read about this event here http://oneworldoneheart.typepad.com/about.html. Also, please visit Lisa’s personal blog http://awhimsicalbohemian.typepad.com
In the 2007, there were about 90 participants. In 2008, there were about 300. This year the number reached an amazing total of 911.
Needless to say, I wasn’t able to visit all 900 plus blogs. A gal has to sleep at least a few hours a day. However, I did get to visit several hundred during the 24 days of the event. Discovering new blogs and making new friends from around the world was a delight.
The first was a lovely bookmark made by Karla Rosendall. Please visit Karla’s blog Day Dream Studio http://daydreamstudios.blogspot.com/.
The second gift was a set of 12 sheets of painted background paper from Cyn Richardson of Two Blue Crows http://twobluecrows.blogspot.com/ or http://14secretsforahappyartistslife.blogspot.com
If you’d like to make 900 new friends, here’s what you need to do. Click on the ONE WORLD ONE HEART logo in the right margin, and you’ll miraculously arrive at the ONE WORLD ONE HEART blog. There you'll find a list of all the blogs who participated in this event. Click on any or all of the blogs in the right hand margin, and you’ll be magically transported to that blog.

I'm interested too much of giving much more time to visit the OneWorldOneHeart site. I believe it's worthy enough to make new friends out there. Thank you!

I love your top picture! That is surely what my mom and her office mates looked like on their coffee break in San Francisco in the 1950's! Congratulations on your wins!
ReplyDeleteJudy, I enjoyed this post, as usual! And congrats on winning two cool gifts! I also won something and I will blog about it soon. I also love the vintage photo at the top of this post - cool!
ReplyDeleteYour art doll that you made for the giveaway is awesome! I WILL make something for next year's event!
